BLOOMING ULYSSES

Blooming Ulysses is a one-man stage adaptation by Gerry Farrell of James Joyce’s Ulysses that invites the audience to accompany the central protagonist Leopold Bloom on his wanderings around Dublin. It is a humorous and energetic performance that has been acclaimed by theatregoers and academics alike and serves as an excellent introduction to the novel. This fine production has travelled the world receiving rave reviews wherever it goes and we are delighted to present it at Bewley’s for the Bloomsday festival.

Aziz Ansari

Aziz Ansari is one of the most well-known comedians in the world. In 2015, the stand-up sold out two nights at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Many will know Aziz for his performance on the hit television show Parks and Recreation. Co-starring alongside actors such as Amy Poehler, Chris Pratt and Nick Offerman, Aziz won plaudits for his role of government employee Tom Haverford. He is also well known as the co-creator, star, writer and director of the hit Netflix original show Master of None.

The Ruby Sessions

The Ruby Sessions is an acoustic music club held weekly every Tuesday, in the intimate setting of Doyle’s of College Street for the past 19 years. Four original acts play a stripped back set in front of a completely silent candlelit room each week. Sunset Rollercoaster is a 6-piece synth-pop band from Taiwan, including members: Tseng Kuo-Hung (vocal/guitar), Chen Hung-Li (bass), Lo Tsun-Lung (drum), Wang Shao-Hsuan (keyboard), Huang Shih-Wei (drum pads/percussion) and Huang Hao-Ting (Saxophone). The band is known for their 80s style of breezy and chilled out music with incredible live performances. Being one of the most romantic bands from Asia, fans nicknamed the band’s genre as “pregnantal rock.”
