Ellen Gunning presents Mediascope each Tuesday at 1.30pm, except in summer. The programme is for professionals working in the communications industry. She is Chairman of the Board of Dublin City FM radio station, and the founding director of the Irish Academy of Public Relations, the largest private provider of online courses, worldwide, in public relations, journalism and event management. Ellen has presented and produced three radio series: one about influential women in Dublin, and two about the EU. She has written three books: “Public Relations – a practical approach” (Macmillan Higher Education International, 2018, 3rd. edition), “Capital Women of Influence” (Liffey Press, 2009) and “Ten Red Hot Tips to Promote Your Business” (Mercier Press, 2016). Ellen won the national European Parliament Broadcast Journalist of the Year Award in 2011.

Our Musical Islands

Presented and produced by Ewan O'Doherty the programme features the traditional dance music and song of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, England, Brittany and Galicia as well as contemporary and newly written music in traditional style. The programme concentrates mainly on earlier and archive recordings, including many from the acoustic/pre-electric era, sourced from 78s made in the United States and elsewhere, as well as from rare LPs and cassettes from the 1950s onwards. 'Ceolta Oileain' is broadcast on Tuesdays 2-3pm, looking forward to your company and hoping you enjoy the programme.

The programme features many events that take place under the Council's brief that enhance our city and make Dublin a great place to visit either as a tourist or someone just living in the city. We will also be covering Sports & Leisure, Water Conservation, Georgian Dublin, Culture, Parks, Housing, Waste, Energy, you name it...we have it.
