Transmission Online Music Festival

Demars entertainment and Whitenoise audio visual present a game changing new festival experience – The Transmission Festival. Set to debut on August 1st 2020, Transmission will be the first Irish festival to broadcast exclusively through online platforms and will feature a carefully curated line up of 18 top independent acts. Transmission aims to provide financial relief to the musicians and crew who have been deprived of work due to the devastating impact of Covid 19 on Ireland’s entertainment landscape.

The Ark: Animal Transformations

Discover ancient tales of shape-shifting creatures and create your own in this online workshop. Ireland’s history is full of stories of humans turning into animals. Have you heard of the Selkie people who could transform into seals? The children who became swans? The women who became wolves? The man who became a salmon, an eagle and then a hawk?! These animal people were believed to possess great wisdom and knowledge. In this creative book-making workshop, you will choose what animal would you become and see what wisdom you might learn.

The Ark: Forest of Fun

Join dance artist Monica Muñoz and discover animals who live in the forest in this joyful online dance workshop. Put on your wellies! They are going on a movement journey to discover who lives in the forest. It’s been raining there so it might be muddy! Let’s find some busy bugs, sleepy bears, flapping owls and sly foxes. Do they have arms and legs like us? How do they move around? Do they like to hide in the trees? Do they wriggle inside the flowers? Or do they even roll in the mud? They will jump, roll, squash, slide and spin. They will also find out how they can build a simple dance forest landscape using everyday materials in our homes.

GT5K 2020

This year it’s Virtual!
GT5K 2020 invites corporate teams, family teams, sports club teams or the individual runner to take part, compete and do if for dementia. In a year where all charities will struggle Grant Thornton are delighted to support Alzheimer’s in Ireland in advocating, empowering and championing the rights of people living with dementia and their communities. The event also supports the development of young athletes with Athletics Ireland’s junior high performance programme, enabling them to reach their full potential.

National Heritage Week 2020 – Heritage and Education: Learning from our Heritage.

Rather than focusing on the organisation of in-person public events, local heritage groups and organisers, families and communities are being invited to develop projects around this year’s theme of Heritage and Education: Learning from our Heritage. Coordinated by the Heritage Council since 2005, National Heritage Week has become one of Ireland’s largest cultural events.

This Beautiful Village

On a quiet street in leafy, suburban Dublin, local residents meet online about a piece of graffiti. Who did it? What does it mean? And what’s to be done about it? They have wine and a quorum. Nothing can go wrong.
This Beautiful Virtual Village is a new adaptation of the razor-sharp play that exposes every side of what it means to co-exist in Ireland today. Set over one night, six people will confront their pride, prejudice and privilege. It won’t be pretty. But it could be beautiful.
