Dublin Pride Festival 2021


Dublin Pride Festival & Parade will return this year! The festival programme wias be launched by The Lord Mayor of Dublin Hazel Chu on Monday, May 17th, International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia & Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), and run throughout June. This year’s theme is “Community”, with a focus on promoting and supporting the vital work of LGBTQ+ organisations and services. Dublin Pride is the biggest LGBTQ+ fundraising event of the year, and as such, we are excited to launch a new initiative to support LGBTQ+ organisations affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

Visit St. Anne’s City Farm. They are delighted to announce that following the recent announcement from Taoiseach Micheál Martin, St. Anne’s City Farm will be open to the public from the 27th of April 2021 in a reduced capacity and under strict health and safety protocols. Animal, staff and visitor safety is paramount at the farm. Mornings on the farm are for visitors to come meet the animals. Online Talk: Theatres and Brothels of the Floating World


In the second talk to accompany the exhibition, Edo in Colour, Curator Dr Mary Redfern will guide you into the “Bad places” or akusho of Edo’s Floating World–the licensed prostitution and theatre districts. Focusing on printed books of the women of the Yoshiwara and the celebrities of the kabuki stage, Dr Redfern considers how these locales served as centres for Edo’s booming popular culture, and how they were framed for consumption in print.
