Liberties Fun Run


On Wednesday, 1st of September, St James’s Hospital Foundation will celebrate the 13th annual Liberties Fun Run in aid of St James’s Hospital. This unique 4 mile timed road race takes participants through the heart of old Dublin and attracts in excess of 1,000 participants every year. Starting and finishing in the beautiful grounds of the Irish Royal Hospital Kilmainham, the route takes in some of the most famous sites throughout the Liberties including St James’s Gate, Francis Street, The Coombe and Fatima.

A fast paced modern version of Seamus Heaney’s ‘The Burial at Thebes’ based on the ancient Greek classic ‘Antigone’ by Sophocles.
